M.C. Marine Club Meet featuring Blakely and Gray Gearless Motors!
December 3, 2011

Our first-ever meet in Muskegon - hosted by Mike & Chris Terbush of M.C. Marine and run by Roger Dykehouse was absolutely fantastic! There were a nice bunch of motors on display, including several Gearless Flex-shaft Blakely motors built in the early 1900's.

It was cold and rainy outside (well, it IS Michigan in December after all!) but with pizza lunch for a $5 donation and popcorn offered by M.C. Marine throughout the day it was a great meet!

The primary presentation during this meet was the culmination of a great deal of research by Roger. This was followed by an actual tour of what remains of the plant here in Muskegon. Roger has documented and produced a comprehensive article regarding the Blakely motors and their founder. He is working to having it published in the Antique Outboarder magazine.

We also had a nice presentation by Mark Majcher of the MOB who described his extremely rare and amazing motor finds at Constantine this year. He even fired one up for us!

In addition, Dick Gortz presented Roger Dykehouse and Mark Suter each with "Golden Prop" awards for their long outstanding support of our local chapter.

Thanks to our fantastic hosts Mike & Chris Terbush and their fine establishment M.C. Marine!
