Club Meet At Mark Suter's place
October 20, 2012

This year our combined Wolverine and Great Lakes Chapter meet at Mark & Elain Suter's place was held on a day that started out cool and wet, but transitioned into a reasonably warm (for October in Michigan) but not very sunny day. But hey! It featured a LOT of great swap deals and a lot of interested on-lookers! If you didn't make this meet, do check out the pictures so you can see what ya missed!.

Mark's barn ("museum" as Elaine calls it) has changed quite a bit from last year. There are a lot fewer non-racing motors but that space is now filled with "new" hydros / motors to admire (see pictures!). There were over 30 motors on display as well as several hydroplanes brought in for display by Tim Kurcz and Bruce Summers. One of Bruce's hydros now belongs to Mark and it was prominently displayed in the "museum". Author Bernie Van Osdale also attended and personally autographed copies of his new book entitled "Vintage Outboard Motor Boat Racing: An Illustrated History 1927 - 1959".

As always, Mark and his family were fantastic hosts. Attendance was up this year, there were 250 registered attendees. Of course there was the famous FANTASTIC SUTER LUNCH!! The conversations were enlightening and there were some hot deals all around.

Thanks to the Suter family and all who participated in this meet. We are already looking forward to next year!

SPECIAL NOTE: This meet was attended by our National Club President, Jay T. Walls as well as 3 other national club officers.
